Showplace Square is just full of surprises (SF really gotta chill with all its neighborhood names lol). I didn’t know this restaurant existed until my coworker booked our team dinner there. The overall experience was simply fantastic, from driving over and parking to eating and drinking. The food here is so good, you really can’t go wrong with anything. Easy 5 stars for service and atmosphere as well.
When they brought out our pastas, we were all thinking “This isn’t impressive at all!” BUT our minds changed after our first bite. Texture’s amazing! Flavors amazing! Portion size.. different story but I’m a big eater. Highly recommend going family style and ordering their crispy burrata, vadouvan campanelle, berkshire pork chop, and basque cheesecake. You won’t regret it!
Great food, with a seasonal menu and some staple year-round dishes such as their famous Crispy Burrata (which was phenomenal).
My personal favourite was their liberty duck in orange sauce (seasonal) and the harissa cauliflower.
Service isn’t the best, but in a small restaurant like this you barely could feel the void, especially when you have a kitchen to peer into and great food to keep you entertained.
Yet another addition to the restaurant family of Omakase, Niku, etc in the design destrict. This place has extremely cute vibes, excellent service, and the food was amazing! Would highly recommend for a cute date night.
We started with the crispy buratta and house sourdough - both of which were delicious and beautifully presented. They are must- tries for your first visit but not sure if special enough to reorder on a second visit.
We shared the corn and duck pastas and skipped the mains on the menu. I absolutely LOVED the corn pasta, it had hints of Mexico street corn but done in such an elevated way. The duck pasta was good too but the corn pasta unfortunately stole the show for me.
Lastly, we got the bread pudding for dessert, our waitress suggested adding a side of sour cream ice cream for $4 and I did not regret that choice. So yummy!
Would love to come back and try out their brunch menu next time.
Cute neighborhood spot great for a date night or brunch!
The rosemary sourdough is amazing.
LOVED the black cod with green pasta (forgot the name) and the salad (forgot the name but with some shaved egg yolk)
Seafood pasta was disappointing though.
The dessert cobbler was good but quite sweet.
Will come back since it’s in the neighborhood and has great vibe and overall good quality.
Went here for dinner and was delighted to see the cute outdoor patio and seating as you walk in. We sat indoors but will be asking to sit outside next time. The cocktails were really good. I got the What the Dill and loved the flavors in the drink which included a bit of pickle juice, which I loved. Our server also gave us some shishito peppers as a treat and that was a nice touch. For my main, I ordered the Brentwood Corn pasta and was blown away with how tasty and flavorful it was. It was so good, I would definitely recommend and will certainly order it again. I also recommend their bread, it was so fluffy and light and it came with a nice tasty soft butter. As for their dessert, the bread pudding was a big winner. Will get it again and will certainly come back.
Went here for dinner last night - the sourdough was so good we ordered a second one! Bread pudding with cream cheese ice cream is a must have - thank you to the waitress, Nicole, especially for all the delicious recommendations and making it a super fun and personable date night!!
This place is a hidden gem. Everything was amazing and perfect - food, service, and ambiance. My friend and I got two items from the menu to share
1. Liberty farm duck sausage gravy, buttermilk biscuit, sunny side hen egg
2. Caramelized French brioche toast, berries, bourbon maple syrup.
The name of both items would suggest that they'd be heavy, but you'd be surprised to find out that they were very light. The gravy was creamy, and the biscuit was cooked well. It crumbled easily. Carmalization on French toast was good, and the bread itself was very light, and felt like I was eating a cloud. It had just the right amount of sweetness.
I am definitely going back to check out their dinner menu. This is my new favorite brunch spot in the city. Part of me doesn't want it to become popular and well-known so I can come often with no wait times but the other part of me wants people to enjoy this amazing place. 10/10 would recommend it.
Bonus- there is plenty of street parking around the restaurant - both paid and free
pricy meal but worth the splurge for special occasions. came here for lunch and cocktails and didn’t disappoint. one of the best cocktail spots in the city!
what’s the dill: so refreshing! perfect cocktail on a sunny day. smooth and creamy drink
clear skies: really enjoyed this one too! reminiscent of a smoky pina colada but not sweet or too sour
crispy burrata: really enjoyed this; great combo of crispiness to richness of the burrata to the creamy sauce
vadouvan spaghetti: noodles were al dente, duck was tender, juicy and flavorful, sauce was not too overpowering. overall a great dish
